A week or two ago my roommate and her coworker and I ate at a Mexican joint down in Hillcrest. We sat out on the patio and watched the, shall we say "flavorful", people walk by. We saw sociopaths, bums, couples of all sorts, people dressed in drag, etc. We commented on how lively the neighborhood is compared to UTC where we have mainly runners and dog walkers.
That night on our way home, a few blocks from our house, we pulled to a stop to turn the corner. There on the corner were a couple of teenage boys (maybe college age?). One boy was standing dangerously close to the curb holding out a stick of sorts. The stick began to glow and he began swinging around his light saber. We busted up laughing at the show of agility and strength and realized, every place has their own nuts.
P.S. How do you spell cooc? coock? cooke? chooc? cuk? cuck?
Yeah, all of my posts tonight seem to be about drugs/alcohol, but really, it is all just a metaphor - that is some deep crack!

Hangover
I dragged myself to work today, tired and sluggish. The lights hurt my eyes. I couldn't even remember the weekend. Then it hit me. The sugar-high I had been on since Saturday had come to a screeching halt.
Saturday night I had attended a Cake Party. Yeah, it is exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of people brought over cakes and we indulged in 6 different concoctions. I made Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes for the occasion.
We also had Red Velvet cake balls, Lady Baltimore cake, Dark Chocolate Orange cake, Lemon cake and Andes Mint cake. All were heavenly in their own right.
Sunday I had some for breakfast...and again for dessert in the evening, and by the time Monday morning rolled around..oye!
What is the cure for a hangover? Water or something? In my case, I think a healthy dose of spinach and sweat will do.

I was on the wagon for a bit, but today I had a swig and fell clean off. I am now sitting in a mud puddle watching the wheels spin puffs of dirt into the air. I realized that I love it and I can't stop thinking about the refreshing 23 flavors of goodness.
